Rolex Date Just Watches were first introduced in 1945, launched by Rolex to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Wilsdorf & Davis, a company that pioneered the switch from Pocket Watches to Wristwatches.

The Rolex Datejust Watches were the first to feature a date display, the time and date of the month. This new feature is visible through a special magnifying Cyclops lens.

Other features include self-winding and are waterproof to 330 feet. These watches are fashioned in gold, platinum and stainless or a combination of the types of metal and color. They also come in a variety of bezels: jeweled, fluted or smooth. The hour markers range from single stud markings to diamond studs or glow in the dark number points. The hour and minute hands usually glow as well. they are accompanied by a sweeping second hand perpetual movement.
